Dr. Karl Swanson is board-certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology and the American Board of Pain Management. He completed his Doctor of Medicine at the University of Illinois Medical School, his internship at the University of Illinois Ravenswood Hospital, and his Anesthesiology residency at the University of Illinois Hospital, Chicago, IL.

He has previously served as Medical Director and Interventional Pain Management Director at the Notre Dame Outpatient Surgery Center and as an Anesthesiologist and Flight Surgeon in the United States Air Force.
