HUDSON, Fla. – Alfred Bonati, M.D., the spine surgeon who owns the Bonati Spine Institute, is celebrating National Health Center Week.

The week-long appreciation week, which is a project of the National Association of Community Health Centers, runs from Aug. 3 to Aug. 10 this year, and includes “focus days” for patients and staff members.

Wednesday was Patient Appreciation Day.

“I have treated tens of thousands of patients in my career, and I am grateful for every single one of them,” said Dr. Bonati. “Helping people leads to a mutual satisfaction between the patient and myself. My patients have their pain eradicated, often in a life-altering manner, and I feel proud knowing that I’ve truly helped change someone’s life for the better, which keeps me going in my work. I can’t thank my patients enough for choosing me to be their surgeon.”

Throughout his career, Dr. Bonati has treated people with chronic back and neck pain. Using his patented minimally-invasive technique which does not require medical implants of any kind, he has helped wheelchair-bound patients to walk again, and even reversed paralyzation for patients who have been told they would be paralyzed forever.

Friday is Health Center Staff Appreciation Day.

“Without the help of my tremendous staff, I wouldn’t be able to treat patients at all,” Dr. Bonati said. “I owe a huge part of the success of the Bonati Spine Institute over the past 40 years to my doctors, nurses, surgical technicians and administrative staff. They are the people that make my practice go every single day, and I wouldn’t be here without them. They are my family, and I hope they feel that way every day.”
