History
In 1981 Dr. Alfred O. Bonati founded the Gulf Coast Orthopaedic Center for Special Surgery of Joint Disease, a modern medical facility dedicated solely to the treatment of pain caused by back spine and neck spine problems such as stenosis, spondylolisthesis, herniated discs, and degenerative disc disease. Dr. Bonati and his team quickly gained worldwide recognition as pioneers in the research, development and application of laser technology, endoscopic applications and advanced techniques to spine surgery. Their dedication to innovation resulted in The Bonati Procedures, procedures to treat lumbar, thoracic, and cervical spine conditions. These revolutionary outpatient procedures virtually eliminated the need for traditional "open" back surgeries. The Bonati Procedures' instrumentation has been awarded six U.S. Patents and results from The Bonati Procedures are presented to medical conferences and scientific gatherings throughout the world, and published in numerous medical journals. The medical complex has since been renamed The Bonati Institute for Advanced Spinal Surgery to reflect the remarkable contributions of The Bonati Procedures which, to date, have been performed successfully over 20,000 times. For over 25 years The Bonati Institute in Hudson, Florida has been the world's destination for advanced spinal surgery and answers to the pain caused by back and neck disc conditions.
